CSB Update
AB Specialty Silicones General Manager Mac Penman issued the following statement after the U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) formally acknowledged today that the company has implemented all recommendations stemming from the May 3, 2019 incident:
Today’s action by the U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) is appreciated. We are gratified this process is drawing toward a close, and we appreciate the spirit of collaboration and common purpose we’ve enjoyed with the CSB, as well as the EPA, IEPA, and various regulatory agencies as we’ve sought to understand exactly what happened that terrible day while ensuring it never happens again.
We will never forget the tragic events of May 3, 2019, and the team members we lost. We continue to hold their memories in our hearts, and pray for their loved ones.
We know we’ll never be the same, but through our grief ABSS has emerged a stronger and more resilient company today because of the incredible dedication and professionalism of our team members, as well as the support of our community. We are grateful.
